This phone sets the pace for cheap 5G Android smartphones in 2020

The first cheap smartphone, Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G, is setting the pace as the first device that sells for as low as $520. Being a Xiaomi product, it is unsure if this mobile device can actually reach most countries of the world. Fans are happy at the signal that Xiaomi is sending right now. Yes, Samsung can sell very fast now, Xiaomi will be remembered as the manufacturer of the first true 5G smartphone.

Too bad, in this quest for cheap 5G Android smartphones, Apple has no part because its products are already expensive. Keeping up with fans and good pricing may be very hard as including the network will drive prices higher.

The top-selling 5G Smartphone revealed

Here is a very brief info about the latest Mi 9 Pro 5G

Display: 6.39-inch AMOLED
Camera: Triple camera setup at the rear
Performance: Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+

Interestingly, when you look at the features of this device and that of the top selling smartphone, they are so identical, yet the Samsung phone sells for more than double the Xiaomi smartphone. Xiaomi has not revealed whether this phone will be sold in the United States of America but this price will be converted to the currency of the European countries where the phone will be shipped. This is a good move in providing 5G phones that are cheaper than anyone had imagined. In 2020, we hope to see smartphones of this network selling for lesser than $500 or $400. Of course, other smartphone manufacturers are adding their voice to the chorus of cheap 5G devices in 2020.

Huawei is one of those companies. It is already talking about these phones. As we all know, the company is depending more on its Kirin chipset more this days. Probably next year other Huawei chipsets will be utilized to bring about or power cheap 5G phones.

How cheap will cheap 5G smartphones be?

Remember that Huawei is also among manufacturers who released $1000+ 5G phones this year. LG did the same. Even the low-tier smartphones from Huawei will later on have cheap 5G internet. Just how cheap these phones will be remains an answer left to our imagination. One possible hindrance that I see to this is the fact that Huawei isn’t really prone to utilize cheap chipsets. Does that suggest that Huawei 5G phones won’t be that cheap? I can’t tell.

Finally, I expect Vivo, LG, Sony, OnePlus, ZTE and others to join the bandwagon and see how to make this a reality.
